The DHF 2026 Grant Cycle will open on January 8, 2026.
Grant Application Guidelines
Over the last thirteen years, The Dana Home Foundation has disbursed funds to support a wide range of projects that have included providing seed money for innovative initiatives, funds to purchase essential equipment, and money to provide beneficial services - all for seniors with a connection to Lexington and surrounding communities. Most program grants range from $3,000 to $25,000, with a few programs receiving grant awards of up to $75,000 and requests as low as $1,000 receiving consideration.
DHF Grant Applicants must be either an IRS qualified 501(c)(3) organization or a municipal, state, or other U.S. governmental entity seeking funds to be used solely for charitable purposes.
Priority will be given to programs that deliver important and impactful services to Lexington, Massachusetts residents over the age of 60.
The Dana Home Foundation does not typically fund multi-year grant requests. While an organization may apply for grants annually with no limit on the number of years it applies, the Dana Home Foundation cannot guarantee funding in perpetuity. We strongly encourage grant applicants to seek alternate and additional sources of funding for ongoing programs. We look forward to reviewing grant applications for new or enhanced programs and services for seniors.
Grant Application Process and Deadline
The 2026 DHF Grant Cycle opens on January 8, 2026 with applications due by March 2, 2026 at 5pm.
It is our intention to notify applicants of funding decisions no later than the first week of May 2026.
Grant recipients are required to submit a mid-year, interim report within 6 months after funding is received (typically by January 31) and a final grant report at the end of the grant year (typically by July 15).
Grant recipients must also submit a detailed financial report showing how grant funds were spent. The financial report shall be submitted by the earlier of the anticipated program end date or 12 months after funding is received. Please note that:
Grantees must notify the Dana Home Foundation to request approval for any re-allocation of funding after the award is granted. Approval must be received prior to using funds for other than the initially budgeted purposes.
The Dana Home Foundation reserves the right, at its sole discretion upon reviewing the financial report, to request that any unspent balance of the funds received be returned to the Dana Home Foundation.
Periodic updates may be required depending on the amount of the grant and the complexity of the program.
Details regarding interim and final reports are available under Grant Reports.
